Another amazing newborn baby session and this time with the cutest and sleepiest baby yet. I had a wonderful time during this session and I can not be more happy with the result.  We got so many sleepy shots and beautiful lifestyle portraits which also included a very patient golden retriever, Rockne.

About the Session

I was slightly worried as I pulled up to my client's home. The day was cloudy and their condo was on the first floor of the building.  As I walked in, it was quite dark but I saw a beautiful window in the front room and instantly knew I can work with it.  The natural light was perfect, soft and had a wonderful glow.  It was one of the easiest newborn sessions I ever had.  Baby William slept through it all.  I love the blue hat which baby William's mom knitted and the beautiful quilt which was also handmade.  Items that hold meaning are always welcome. They make the session that much more special.

Favorite Image

Honestly, it is difficult to pick out my favorite image from this session with so many beautiful pictures.  However, one of the best images caught me by surprise.  After the session concluded and I was walking to my car, I turned around and saw the family in the window. Rockne, the dog was there too.  This was a wonderful moment. I pulled out my camera and captured it.  It was a perfect ending to a perfect session.

How sweet is this little boy.  I enjoyed photographing him and his parents at their lovely home.  This happens to be my neck of the woods and it was so great to do the eight minute walk over to their building.  Baby Harry is a cutie. His clear blue eyes, huge smile and playful nature won me over. I enjoyed every minute of this photo session.  We had a first during this session too, while sitting baby Harry managed to put his footsies into his mouth. What a discovery!!!

About the Session

This was baby Harry's first professional shoot and I must say it could not have gone any better. We chose to do it inside because it's January and it is so cold outside. Also, I prefer for this age (5 months) to stay inside.  I find that most babies feel very comfortable at home and it's usually where I get the most smiles. At home is also where I capture the most intimate and real interaction between baby and parents.  Within an hour or so, we got so many beautiful images. It was hard to narrow down and pick out these highlights.

Favorite Photo

My favorite image from this session is the one I took candidly of the family in the bathroom (the last one down). The shadows and light worked just perfectly and it all came together in one click. I also caught their reflection in the mirror. This is what we photographers refer to as the decisive moment.  The image is beautiful and real.

Baby Marlow's lifestyle newborn session was just perfect!  I had a great time meeting this family and photographing their sweet baby girl. Baby Marlow arrived a little bit ahead of schedule just in time for Christmas.  With snow outside and Christmas decorations throughout, I can not imagine a more beautiful setting for taking photos.

About the Session

I pride myself on making each and every newborn session it's own unique experience.  For me, the most important factor is connecting with the parents and making everyone feel at ease.  The period of bringing a new baby home can be quite stressful and the last thing I would want to do is add to that stress.  Comfortable environment ensures that we will achieve the best images possible.  If your  little one needs to eat, diapers need to be changed, burped... We got time for all of that. This entire session was amazing.  While baby Marlow was awake I captured all the tender moments with her parents and while she was sleeping we got beautiful portraits and closeups.

About the Family

This was one of the best experiences I had while photographing a newborn session.  I felt so welcome in this family's home and we had plenty to talk about during the down times, from sailing to Croatia to all the gluten free offerings in our neighborhoods.  Capturing the moments between these two new parents and witnessing how in love they are with each other and with baby Marlow was inspiring.
