This lifestyle newborn session which I photographed at my client’s home in San Francisco was such a treat for me. Three years prior I photographed baby Blair there and now it was baby Elin’s turn. It was so wonderful to see Blair being so sweet and loving towards her little sister. She even held her and was giving her kisses.

One of major perks of my job is getting a call from past clients who are adding one more baby. Such sessions are filled with emotion and tender moments that are simply not to be missed.

Blair made sure we didn’t forget her during the session. She was so playful and full of energy and at the same time she was gentle and loving towards her little sister.

This Berkeley Rose Garden maternity and family photo session was so much fun. Little Lucia showed off her really fun personality and I was so glad to be there to experience it. At one point during the session Lucia, on her own accord, picked up two leaves off the ground and started dancing as if she was a cheerleader. It was such a spontaneous moment and it made me and her parents smile from ear to ear.

This family is expecting a little boy really soon so this was in a way the last professional photoshoot for them before they become party of four. The special moments between Lucia and her parents and her excitement of soon becoming a big sister are such sweet memories. Down the road, this family will be looking at these images with nostalgia and talk about them for years to come.

My job as a photographer is much more then delivering a beautiful gallery of images. I consider myself to be a documentarian. With the clicks of my shutter, I am freezing time and telling a story of my client’s life.

About the Location

Berkeley Rose Garden is a beautiful place located in a residential area of the Berkeley Hills. It is a city owned park which is nestled in a small canyon. I particularly like the forest grove like setting with beautiful steps and wooden bridges.

Rich, the dad in this photo, was my grad school professor at the University of San Francisco and was also one of my very first clients when baby Cooper was born about eight years ago. Each year since then we meet to capture sweet moments such as this one. It’s been such a pleasure which I hope to continue for many years ahead. This time we went around their home town of Tiburon and finished off at the famous Hippie Tree.
