Family Holiday Photos at the Hap Magee Park | Danville Photographer

FLEETING MOMENTS | PRECIOUS MEMORIES

Family holiday photos too often tend to be slightly confined. Even though the images are meant to portray joy they somehow come short of that goal. It might be the time limit of the session (such as mini holiday sessions), or stiff new corduroy pants, cold weather, itchy wool sweaters but whatever the reason might be, this was not the case during this session. We had lots of fun and Charlotte was once again the star.

About the Family

I love this sweet family, always so stylish, ready to play and such good people.  This was our fifth session together. I started photographing them when Charlotte was just a few days old, then we did Charlotte's six month sessionone year and two years. Each session was remarkable and this one is no less. Charlotte is full of giggles and energy, a photographers dream.

Also, this is their last session as a family of three. Charlotte is going to be a big sister.

About the Session

Usually, I like to time my sessions for either early in the morning or late afternoon to catch the best light but believe it or not I shot this during the mid-day.  I was lucky to have some overcast and for the most part we stayed in the open shade.  The light ended up being perfect.  We used this park twice before in our sessions so we all felt very comfortable during the session.  It was such a success that I had a difficult time pulling the images for processing. I ended up with about 90 in the final gallery. As you see, I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites for this blog too. I just counted, 36... it must be a record.  Enjoy!

Lazy Sundays with my Family

A DAY IN LIFE...

Today is, you guessed it, a very lazy Sunday and while everyone in my house including my dog is taking a mid-day nap I've decided to write a personal blog about this beautiful day. Ok, today is not what one would call a typical beautiful day since it rained all morning but for me it is!  I have no scheduled sessions today and this means I get to spend the entire day with my boy, hubby and fur-baby (who is a 13.5 yr old husky).

SO FAR...

We got up as usual at exactly 7AM. As soon as my three year old opened his eyes, he called MAMAAA PAPAAA. Then we ran into his room and the day of play and wonder began.  While morning showers were in full swing we played with newly acquired and highly popular Ninjago Legos.  A little of child's imagination mixed in with magic and we were flying, driving and shooting all by our living room window.  Here is the photographic proof.

NEXT

Next, we quickly got dressed and went to the pumpkin patch.  If you didn't notice, pumpkin season is on in Chicago!!!  Beautiful pumpkin patches are sprinkled everywhere.  This time we went to a neighborhood one and we had a great time (http://pumpkinschicago.com) We got ourselves a huge pumpkin and now we are ready to carve. Again, photographic proof...

Half of our day is over and boys are asleep taking their after-lunch naps and gathering energy for the rest of the busy day ahead. We still have to carve our pumpkin, enjoy the family swim time at LVAC and maybe check out a new find, Machu Picchu restaurant, for dinner (http://www.machupicchuchicago.com).  We have a Peruvian in the house, so why not.  We can reminisce about our trip to Peru and enjoy Pisco Sours...plus our boy will eat pretty much anything...

Oh, what is that I hear: MAMAAA PAPAAA !!! Nap time is over. Time to get busy...
