Family Holiday Photos at the Hap Magee Park | Danville Photographer

FLEETING MOMENTS | PRECIOUS MEMORIES

Family holiday photos too often tend to be slightly confined. Even though the images are meant to portray joy they somehow come short of that goal. It might be the time limit of the session (such as mini holiday sessions), or stiff new corduroy pants, cold weather, itchy wool sweaters but whatever the reason might be, this was not the case during this session. We had lots of fun and Charlotte was once again the star.

About the Family

I love this sweet family, always so stylish, ready to play and such good people.  This was our fifth session together. I started photographing them when Charlotte was just a few days old, then we did Charlotte's six month sessionone year and two years. Each session was remarkable and this one is no less. Charlotte is full of giggles and energy, a photographers dream.

Also, this is their last session as a family of three. Charlotte is going to be a big sister.

About the Session

Usually, I like to time my sessions for either early in the morning or late afternoon to catch the best light but believe it or not I shot this during the mid-day.  I was lucky to have some overcast and for the most part we stayed in the open shade.  The light ended up being perfect.  We used this park twice before in our sessions so we all felt very comfortable during the session.  It was such a success that I had a difficult time pulling the images for processing. I ended up with about 90 in the final gallery. As you see, I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites for this blog too. I just counted, 36... it must be a record.  Enjoy!

Family Session at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco

FLEETING MOMENTS | PRECIOUS MEMORIES

I was really happy and excited to do this family session at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. It is one of my favorite spots in San Francisco to photograph at. I was also super excited because it has been two years since our first session in the Joaquin Miller park. Hazel and Everett have grown so much in two years. Needless to say I had a wonderful time capturing their vivacious spirit and joy.

About the Session

We chose the Palace of Fine Arts as the location because it had a cover just in case it did rain.  It was a perfect location, surprisingly not crowded at all. Hazel and Everett had plenty of room to run and have fun.  My camera stayed dry and we got some beautiful images.

About the Family

I swear this is one of the most loving, warm and joyful families I have ever had a pleasure of photographing. They drove all the way from Oakland through terrible traffic to make our session happen.  As soon as kiddos jumped out of the car, they were ready for fun and I was ready to capture it all with my camera.  We had so much fun running around.  It certainly helps that these two are the most adorable twins I have ever seen, curly hair and all.

And yes, they even gave me a ride back to North Beach.  Thank you!!!

Momo's At-Home Newborn Photo Session in Walnut Creek
FLEETING MOMENTS | PRECIOUS MEMORIES

Gosh, I love these sleepy crib photos. Baby Momo has arrived and she is just adorable.  I was so excited to meet this little one.  I had a wonderful time meeting her parents during the maternity session we did at the Borges Ranch.  During that initial session we had so much to talk about and I felt as if we were becoming fast friends. Of course, I was so happy for them and was secretly hoping that they would do a newborn session and that I would have the honor of photographing it.  A month later I heard from them and it was time to meet little baby Momo.

About the Session

As soon as I arrived to their modern light-filled apartment, I had a great feeling about the session.  These brand new parents were super relaxed and seemed to have the parenthood thing down.  Not many newborns love to sleep in their cribs but baby Momo loved it so I decided to right away focus on that.  These sleepy crib shots turned out to be my favorite and I wanted to share these with you. Enjoy!!!
